Turtle (Solitary Shell)

BABY BOOMERS

Baby Boomerfly

Proud Popa moment here: my wiz kid son turned this single puppy into a kaleidoscopic litter using his mad genius and computer skills. Additionally, he also picked the song to go with the picture. = D

SCREWING (A Perfectly Natural Thing)

SCREWING ( A Perfectly Natural Thing)

Using tools
Teaching novices and fools
Biomechanics and physiology:
One male to one female
A screw goes into a nut
Where thread aligns with rut
And a washer serves as a ring
To sanctify and keep it clean
With God as the Designated Driver
The union is blessed
As a perfectly natural thing.

YELLOW BIRD (Outside My Window)

Rejection (Shot Down In Flames)

I started out sketching a pig-nosed turtle (an odd looking critter to be sure) and somehow we ended up with this crazy thing: a villain of sorts – I imagine him to be like an AntiCupid. Rejection is always awkward and painful….and most everyone has experienced it at one time or another. We’ll blame it on this guy. = 7

Rejection (Shot Down In Flames)

Was looking for love,
Looking for affection
– took a chance
And got burnt by Rejection;
Courting can be
Such an awkward dance,
Such cruel games
When hoping for Cupid’s arrow
But instead
…..you get shot down in flames!!!

This Is Not An Exit

This Is Not An Exit

Here’s your sign,
A wonder in time
But I think
You will find
That the miracle for which you’ve pleaded
Is not the miracle that you needed;
For it is not the sign
That your spirit has been searching for,
….It is The Door.

MATTHEW 12:39 But He answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:

Dogs of War

Dogs of War

Dog days
Of summer plays
Erupt into war
– a dangerous dance
Of chase and chance
Where snarl and sneer
Turn to wag and cheer
as the combatants
Quickly forget about
What it was
They started fighting for.

The MOB Rules

The MOB RULES

A final warning
to imposing fools:
Never double cross the Mob
Or break their rules
Because this family is so tough,
even Little Joey
Can finish the job.

I read that a group of Roos is called a mob and I couldn’t resist. = >

Century Sleepers (The Awakening)

Century Sleeper (Sloth)

Century Sleepers
Weary eyed treasure keepers
Slumbering in the trees
Stay at ease
Playing flying V’s
While catching Z’s
Awaiting the Great Awakening
Rising with the sun
To hear Heaven and nature sing
Praise to the Eternal King.

TASMANIAN TIGER (Memory’s Garden)

Tasmanian Tiger

Psychedelic boomerang
Back in time
An experimental mind trip
Of tooth, claw, and fang;
Behold, the dog-faced marsupials
From the land of Taz
Singing songs in Memory’s Garden
Where the present will never find her
And; except for the Century Sleepers,
….no one ever has.

APPLE JAX (Hunter Eats Hunter)

Labyrinths

Trouble Maker

Psalm 140:3 – They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders’ poison is under their lips. Selah.

NEVER TURNS TO MORE (Immortal Jellyfish)

Immortal Jellyfish

Growing up
Growing old,
No time for that
No time for growing dull and cold;
I was made to live
I was created to thrive,
A fountain of youth
Springs from inside
Its a natural defense
Because everyday I’m reborn
Everyday is so intense
Where never turns to more
And its a thrill and a blessing
Just to be ALIVE!!!

WALKING STICK (So Much Left Behind)

Whale Tale

Whale Tale

Arrows and anchors away
I set the course
With display of force
To break free
And live another day;
Playing the harpoon
That was launched too soon
Because this whale
Has more tales to tell
And I’ll sing
Until I’ve nothing left to say;
Taking hunters for a trip
With power chords and flip
My free will still remains
….until the final spray.

This one was inspired by a story of a blue whale that was harpooned by fishermen on a 90 foot boat. The whale drug them across 50 miles of ocean for seven hours. A true tale of perseverance. Never say die!!! Peace and blessings to all! = >

Sterile

Sterile

Safe inside
Never going out
Never making contact
Never really knowing what its all about;

Safe within
Never running the earth
Never touching the sky
Doing nothing is the greater sin
and you’ll never really know the reason why.

Scared of the unknown
Scared to reap the harvest
of seeds that you might have sown
Scared to death of complications and trouble…

….Please excuse me,
but I have to ask,
“Is it really living being stuck in a bubble?”

Double TROUBLE! = >

STEEP

STEEP

Have cool will travel
To find love
Can be an uphill battle
Where cost and terrain are always steep;

So sojourners soldier on
With spirits high
Conquering hearts and landscapes above
Prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice
Because the REAL THING never comes cheap.
